Welcome to the Winning Stretch

By December 1, 2017 No Comments

Welcome to the winning stretch of 2017. These are the last few days in the year where you go after your annual goals like Usain Bolt going for the finish line. You are leaving nothing to chance and you are moving forward with determination and monomaniacal focus.

However, if you are passionate about success as I am, you are already fine tuning your goals for 2018. While you are going for the finish line, you also have your eye on the coming year.

Do you know that how you end this year determines the success you will enjoy as you start the New Year? In other words, ‘finish strong, to start strong

If you have been following me, you would have read 4 Steps to Finish the Year Strong on this site. I recommend you go back and read that [again] to help you on this last stretch. But today I want to focus forward…

With this in mind, I’d like to share this 3 minute clip from the indomitable Zig Ziglar.

Have you watched it? Did it resonate with you? Zig has a way of stating the obvious that is so powerful, doesn’t he?

My question to you today is ‘in the coming year, how do you intend to hit a target you don’t have?’ ‘How do you intend to achieve a goal you have not set?’ ‘How do you intend to execute a plan you have not mapped out?

As a coach, one of the most common questions (or variants thereof) I get is what I call the ‘How do I…?’ question.

  • How do I make this New Year positively different than all other years?
  • How do I achieve my goals?
  • How do I change my trajectory?
  • How do I prevent my goals from unravelling by February or earlier?

I will tell you today what I always counsel… I say…

  1. Cast a vision for your life.
  2. Set a goal that stretches you out of your comfort zone.
  3. Make specific plans to accomplish that goal.
  4. Run towards your goal, on the vehicle of your plan like your life depends on it (because it does)

It was Benjamin Mays who said ‘the tragedy in life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal; the tragedy in life lies in not having any goals to reach.’

So, what are you going to do about this?

Will you roll up your sleeves and set goals for each segment of your life? I hope you will.

Do you have enough at stake that you cannot afford to leave your success to chance? Are you at your wits end, and know that if nothing shifts in the coming year your dreams will turn to dust?

If you have answered ‘yes’ to these questions, I’d like to invite you to join me for my Goals Discovery Months from  December 1st 2017 to January 31st 2018 and I will show you step by step how to get on target and stay on target all year long. You will end the year well accomplished and where you said you wanted to be.

Accept my invitation, get in touch here. First I’ll give you a FREE 15 minute discovery session and then we will move on to our Goals Discovery Month.

Goals make the difference between people who change the world and people who watch the world change around them, wondering what in the world happened. Which will you be?
